The concept sparked from a TikTok video featuring a fervent man vowing to defend his off-grid home against the “mark of the beast” from the Bible. From there, the story took on a life of its own, growing through intense and surreal imagery. Jeremy envisioned Daniel, a reclusive and maniacal prepper, basking naked in the moonlight as an offering to God—a scene almost homoerotic in its devotion and raw, visceral connection to faith.

The role of Daniel was crafted with Charlie McGuire in mind, and he brought a chilling authenticity that elevated the character's intensity and complexity, making him both fearsome and oddly magnetic. His portrayal captured the madness and fragility of a man on the edge, embodying the dedication and depth that Jeremy imagined from the start.
